The CyberSafe TrustBroker WebAccess products provide Kerberos-based authentication, single sign-on, and improved security between Web Browsers on users Workstations and one or more of the following services on the network: 2-tier and n-tier applications using Web Servers or; Java servlet's on J2EE Application Servers or; Proxy Servers which authenticate access to an Intranet or the Internet. In a typical enterprise network users will first authenticate themselves to obtain Kerberos security credentials when they logon to their Workstation, or when they use an application that performs the necessary user authentication, instead of, or as well as during the Workstation logon. The user's credentials are then available for use by any Kerberos enabled non-Web based applications on the Workstation. With the addition of WebAccess the credentials can also be used to present the user's identity to Web enabled services and multi-tier Web-based applications on the network. Since the same credentials can now be used by both Web and non-Web based applications the user can experience secure single or reduced sign-on across these environments.
